Mango butter is extracted from the kernel of the mango fruit. Mango butter has emollient properties, which makes it brilliant as a hair and scalp conditioner. Aloe vera contains something called proteolytic enzymes which repairs dead skin cells on the scalp. It also acts as a great conditioner and leaves your hair all smooth and shiny. It promotes hair growth, prevents itching on the scalp, reduces dandruff and conditions your hair.
Castor oil has natural antibacterial and antifungal properties and is high in Vitamin E, minerals, proteins, and Omega 6 and 9 beneficial fatty acids. Its unusually high ricinoleic acid ratio makes it beneficial to skin and hair. Ricinoleic acid is one of the essential amino acids required by the human body. It’s an Omega-9 fatty acid that can penetrate into the pores of the skin and the hair follicles. It provides nourishment, enabling the hair follicles to restore growth to a normal level.
Vitamin E is an antioxidant which will help extend the shelf life of the oils in this product.
BTMS-50 is 50% active Behenyl (C22) quaternary conditioning agent and cationic emulsifier provided in pastille form. It entails Behentrimonium Methosulfate (and) Cetyl Alcohol (and) Butylene Glycol. Behentrimonium Methosulfate is a quaternary ammonium salt derived from the natural plant oil Colza. It is both a mild primary emulsifier and an excellent conditioning agent, which provides elegant cationic emulsions for both skin and hair care products. These creams tend to resist wash off, leaving a soft, powdery feel on the skin and imparting excellent detangling properties to hair conditioners. In a hair conditioner, it offers improved wet comb and leaves hair with noticeable body and spring. Due to its extreme mildness, it is suitable for leave-in conditioners.
Vegetable Glycerin is a humectant. A humectant is a substance that attracts water from its surroundings, including moisture from the air. Glycerin is a powerful humectant that can help keep the skin and hair hydrated and radiant. Glycerin is safe and non-toxic so it can be used for those with sensitive skin.
Stearic Acid is an organic, fatty acid that is found in vegetable fats and oils. It works harmoniously with other fatty acids to support the skin and hair and offers versatility in texture.
Because this product contains water, we used a preservative to prevent bacteria and mold growth. We used Optiphen™ which is a paraben and Formaldehyde free broad spectrum preservative that protects against gram positive bacteria, gram negative bacteria and mold.
